Mark Knowles

Mark has served local and state agencies since 1997. His professional career started with the Georgia Municipal Association where he represented members at the Georgia General Assembly and U.S. Congress for ten years. His work focused on municipal taxation as well as general areas of community and economic development.

He received an Adjunct Public Service Assistant appointment with the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government in 2006 where he has served as a Consultant since 1990. Mark is actively involved in specialized human resources studies for the Institute and is considered an expert in the application of the Factor Evaluation System (FES). He actively teaches FES application to local and state officials throughout the United States.

Mark founded GovernmentBids.com in 1998 and later sold the company to InsiderAdvantage where he served as President of the company through the eventual sale of the GovernmentBids.com service to Mediagrif (TSX:MDF).

Mark is currently President and Managing Partner of GovDirections LLC. The company manages GovDirections.comGovAdvice.com, GovSchool.com, and GovReporter which combined serve more than 120,000 member companies. The platforms publish more than 1.4 million articles annually.

Mark also serves as a Principal Consultant with Condrey & Associates. A human resources consulting firm assisting clients throughout the United States with classification and compensation studies as well as management analysis.

Mark holds a Master of Public Administration (1990) and Bachelor of Arts (1988) from the University of Georgia. He holds specialized certificates from Georgia Institute of Technology in Economic Development and the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training for Elected Officials and is a graduate of the Robert E. Knox, Jr. Municipal Leadership Institute. Mark is a member of Leadership DeKalb (1999 Class) and has served on national and statewide boards and committees addressing local government revenue and internet taxation. He has testified before state and federal elected bodies on behalf of Georgia communities.

 

Mike Mahathirath

Mike has served local and state agencies for 21 years. His professional career started with the Georgia Municipal Association where he managed the association's Lease Pool. His work focused on public financing and helped grow the pool to the largest in the United States. Mike later joined the Georgia Department of Community Affairs where he managed the initial development of the first statewide Uniform Chart of Accounts.

He received an Adjunct Public Service Assistant appointment with the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government in 2006 where he has served as a Consultant since 2001.

Mike co-founded GovernmentBids.com in 1998 through the sell of the company to InsiderAdvantage where he served as Vice-President of the company through the eventual sale of the GovernmentBids.com service to publicly traded Mediagrif.
